Do you enjoy solving problems? Financial decisions can make or break a business so it is an essential part of business development in all industries. If you would like to learn about the principles of accounting in business, finance and management then this subject will interest you.
Required qualifications
You will need to average B grades
at GCSE and at least a grade C
for mathematics. Accounting is a
challenging A-level which you are
strongly advised to research well
before choosing as one of your
subject options. You need to be
confident in your numerical skills
and demonstrate a strong
academic ability.
What will I study?
The course will focus on:
- accounting principles
- financial accounting
- final accounts
- management accounting
- company accounts.
On the course you will:
- produce and analyse accounting information
- carry out group and individual activities
- build on your analytical and evaluative skills
- enhance your ability to work with numbers
- meet industry professionals from global corporations.
Method of assessment
You will be assessed by four
examination papers (two in each
year). There is no coursework for
this programme.
What will I be able to progress to?
You will be equipped to progress to university to study related subjects such as business, finance and economics or alternative subjects depending on your selection of other A-levels. You may also choose to move straight into employment.
