Level 2 BTEC Diploma
One-year, level 2
This exciting introduction to the business world will provide you with a broad understanding of commerce. You will learn about what motivates entrepreneurs like Lord Alan Sugar and Sir Richard Branson to start up businesses. You will also investigate the issues involved in setting up online businesses such as eBay. You will develop your practical skills in preparation for work or further study.
Required qualifications
Successful completion of a broad GCSE or equivalent programme, including two A*–D grades in mathematics and another relevant subject, plus a good school reference and an interest in business.
What will I study?
The course will focus on:
- introduction to business activity
- exploring key business pressures
- investigating financial control
- business communication, sales and customer service
- starting up a new business
- business online.
On the course you will:
- carry out investigations into a number of local businesses
- examine how businesses work
- use the internet to research business information.
Method of assessment
Each unit will be assessed through coursework.
What will I be able to progress to?
