Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma (BTEC national diploma)
Two-years, (equivalent to three A-levels)
This programme will allow you to specialise in a particular area such as marketing, management, finance or human resources. You will gain practical work-related skills by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations.
Required qualifications
Four or more A*-C grades at GCSE or a full level two pass in a related subject plus two other GCSEs at grade C or above. Entry requirements for students currently studying an intermediate vocational course will be based on their performance at intermediate level. Depending on your GCSE grades, you may also take an AS/A-level alongside the national diploma.
What will I study?
The course will focus on:
- business and management
- business enterprise
- conducting business online
- specialist topics in marketing, management, finance or human resources.
On the course you will:
- develop employability skills
- build upon analytical and evaluative skills
- visit and study local, national and international business organisations.
Method of assessment
Assessment is through completion of internally assessed coursework.
What will I be able to progress to?
The course will provide you with the opportunity to progress to university to complete an HND or degree course. You will be well-equipped to pursue study or employment in marketing, management, finance or personnel. Belmiro Pascoal (ex-Eastlea School) achieved a merit and two passes in this subject and is now studying international business at Middlesex University.
