If you would like to gain a broad science education and then develop scientific knowledge relating to environmental issues then you will be interested in this course.
Required qualifications
Five or more A*-C grades at GCSE including English language.
What will I study?
The course will focus on:
- practical laboratory techniques
- statistical methods
- environmental science
- plants and soil.
On the course you will:
- carry out practical laboratory experiments
- undertake statistical analysis of data
- research and report on environmental science issues.
Method of assessment
You will be assessed by practical work and a collection of evidence from your portfolio. Please note that you must complete all six units to gain accreditation.
What will I be able to progress to?
This course combines well with other A-level science courses, in particular chemistry and biology. It will enhance your application for courses at university such as environmental science and biology.
Other information
Please note that you need to study this course for a full two years to gain the qualification.
