Specialist pathway
Two-years, level three
Do you already know that your aim is to work in finance? This exciting and competitive arena offers a wealth of different careers including banking and risk management. This pathway is a package of AS/A-levels and enrichment activities designed for students who are clear that they want to pursue a career in financial services.
Required qualifications
Five or more A*–C grades including
English language. You must have a
strong interest in pursuing a career
in the financial services industry.
What will I study?
You will study the following subjects over two years:
- A-level financial services
- A-level business studies
- two other AS/A-level subjects of your choice.
Enrichment
You will participate in a range of
enrichment activities which will give
you competitive advantage when
stepping into the finance industry.
These activities will include some
of the following:
- an internship at a recognised financial institution
- specialist workshops and guidance sessions with industry professionals to support your career progression
- Proshare – a team-based, nationwide shares investment competition
- Young Enterprise – you will set up and run your own company with other students.
What will I be able to progress to?
This pathway is excellent
preparation for further study at
university on courses including
financial services, banking,
accounting, business management
and economics. After university or
instead of further study, you could
progress to specialist financial
services roles including retail
banking, corporate banking,
insurance broking, risk
management, investment
management and financial broking.
