NewVIc+ Activities
NewVIc+ is a programme of lectures and debates that promotes greater local and international understanding. NewVIc+ encourages students to prepare for their futures as global citizens.
Over the year the NewVIc+ programme will reflect college themes and include speakers from a variety of backgrounds. It will promote the skills that students need to overcome personal and global challenges. In particular it will address the great challenges facing humanity such as environmental sustainability, poverty, inequality, conflict and disease.

Student development
Students from all disciplines will be encouraged to attend the lectures and debates to help them gain a broad understanding of the world. Taking part will support the development of students’ personal, learning and thinking skills and they will be encouraged to formulate their own ideas about topics, contribute to discussions and ask questions.
NewVIc+ is part of the global citizen framework and the programme will aim to stimulate students’ interests in topics for their research project. Attendance at the lectures will contribute towards the NewVIc Bacc as a personal challenge.
NewVIc+ schools
NewVIc+ schools is a programme of activities tailored specifically for 14-16 year olds which focuses on progression routes and careers. For more information please click here.
Students and teachers are also welcome to attend the lectures and debates in the NewVIc+ programme. Places are limited and the programme is more suitable for G&T students and students with a very strong personal interest in the subject areas. For more information and to book places please contact Siân Owen, NewVIc+ coordinator.
