The temperature is rising, the Earth is changing and your city is threatened. How will you respond? This is a story in which YOU decide what happens next.
Imagining a world in which nature takes revenge on industrial humanity, 3rd Ring Out takes you forward in time to an emergency planning rehearsal set in East London.
Metis uses live performance, video simulation and interactive computer systems to produce work which responds to contemporary concerns. The result has the immediacy of theatre combined with the thrill of a disaster movie; a fiction rooted in fact.
Awarded a prestigious Tipping Point Commission, 3rd Ring Out is already causing waves.
Metis Arts
Metis Arts creates interdisciplinary arts projects using extensive research to engage with contemporary concerns and to explore innovative ways of connecting with audiences. It is based in Cambridge and works with a range of arts, science and education partners.
Tipping point
TippingPoint aims to ‘harness the power of the imagination to help stabilise the climate’. They expose creative artists to the enormous challenges of climate change; at the heart of this lies a series of meetings involving very high quality, intense dialogue between artists, scientists and others close to the heart of the issue. These encounters provide a chance to explore the broader cultural challenges precipitated by climate change.
