We are offering your school a package of four evening events, each of which focuses on a different career area. The package enables you to invite ten students and their parents/guardians to each event.
Events
The four events will focus on:
- Medicine, nursing and health sciences
- Law
- Leisure, tourism and sport
- Business, IT and finance
These events provide an opportunity for students to try out different AS-level and vocational subject taster sessions, meet professionals and find out more about careers in these areas. Parents/guardians are encouraged to attend the events with their children.
Previous events
In previous years the events have had good attendance and have received positive feedback from students and parents. Last year we ran a combined medicine and law evening but due to the event being over subscribed we have decided to separate the subjects to create two events.

Students
The events are aimed at students in Year 10 and Year 11 and you are invited to reserve places for ten students and their parents/guardians at each event.
Marketing
We will help you to promote the events within your school by providing flyers and posters.
Costs
Costs for NewVIc staff and facilities will be provided by the college. The additional funding required to run the events is £600 per school, this is based on a cost of £15 per student for a total of ten students participating in each of the four events.
Aimhigher London Borough of Newham has offered to match the funding from participating schools and therefore the total cost to each school has been reduced to £300.
