The life of Michael Jackson was celebrated by first year BTEC national diploma in performing arts students this term.

‘Jacksonomy’, a devised piece of contemporary theatre was written and directed by NewVIc teachers Katy Martin and choreographed by Robert Nicholson.

Through acting and dance the students demonstrated their high level of performance skills as they explored the themes of the King of Pop’s life.

Drama teacher, Katy Martin commented on the performance:

“I decided that Michael Jackson would be an interesting character to explore through theatre because I think that in order to understand the man, its important to look at the magic and madness that surrounded him.

The first year BTEC national diploma performing arts students are an extremely talented and lovely group of people to work with and directing this project has been endless fun!”
