NewVIc hosts BBC Blast

NewVIc was proud to host the BBC Blast event that took place at the end of the summer term.
Students from local schools and NewVIc students took part in a series of creative workshops run by the BBC Blast team. Activities included making and directing a music video, street dance, slam-poetry and much more.
The sessions were held on the BBC tour bus and also in NewVIc to make use of the college’s outstanding music, media and sports facilities.
Iain Wright MP, from the Department for Children, Schools and Families, visited the event to see the activities taking place.
BBC Blast moved to Central Park for the Mayor’s Show where much of the work of the young people involved in BBC Blast was showcased.
