Prize winning film-maker

Ricardo McCubbin, prize-winning filmaker
Ricardo McCubbin, national diploma science student, came first in a film-making competition called Mind City run by Architecture Crew. After hearing about the competition he spent a couple of weeks planning the content of the film. The brief was to provide a ‘Mind’s eye view’ of a space or place near you. Ricardo decided to focus on the green spaces in the borough and what people can do in the parks on a Saturday.

Ricardo has not done anything like this before and although he was keen to win he didn’t think he would actually achieve it. He was shocked to discover that his film had come first and that he had won a camcorder.

Ricardo commented on the experience:

“I wanted to win the camcorder for my mum, I gave it to her for Mothers’ Day. I worked hard to plan the film and I did everything myself from coming up with the idea to producing it. I am now taking part in activities run by Architecture Crew.”
