Mughees Hassan

Going on to study Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge

“I’m pleased with my results - I’ve really immersed myself in college life and got involved with lots of extra-curricular and enrichment activities and I think that has helped secure a place at Cambridge. I haven’t had my college confirmed yet, but I am hoping for St Johns!”



Anastasia Yarboye

A* Law, A Psychology, A Spanish and A Italian

Going on to study Law at Leeds University.

“My time here has been really good - I arrived here in 2014 from Italy and I was given lots of support in order to ensure I did well”

Taking a gap year before going on to study Education and Sociology at Birmingham University

“I’ve really thrown myself into college life - I’ve been a student ambassador and played for the netball team.

I’m pleased with my results and I feel like the support I had from the Skills Centre has enabled me to be an independent learner.  I can now fulfil my ambition to become a teacher.”

Taking a gap year before going to university in Germany.

“I’ve had a good time at NewVIc - The staff have really supported me in achieving these results.

“Being an Arts Award student has inspired me to get more involved with the art world and enter competitions. I was chosen to represent NewVIc in the ARTiculation competition, a public speaking competition  on the subject of art, architecture
or an artefact .

“This has been one of my main achievements.”

Going on to study Medicine at Plymouth University.

“It has been an absolute pleasure being at NewVIc. Everyone here is on your side to help you succeed. They don’t just care about grades - they care about your future. Staff are happy to answer your questions and ensure you know your subject as well as possible. They encourage you to aim high.”



Henry Bolor

A Maths and D*D*D* BTEC level 3 extended diploma Business

Going on to study Accounting and Finance at the University of Surrey.

“I’ve had an amazing time at NewVIc. I am so grateful that the staff here believed in me - when I applied I had been studying in the Philippines, and my qualifications didn’t meet the standard entry requirements, but NewVIc recognised my potential!”

Going on to study Maths at Kings College

“I’ve made so many friends - which is so important when you are new to London. I played on the college basketball team which I loved.

Going on to study Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Westminster University.

Going on to study History at Queen Mary

“I’m so relieved and happy with my results. I am really looking forward to university, although I will miss NewVIc!

Taking a gap year before going on to study Medicine

“I’ve had a great time at NewVIc - it is the kind of place that encourages you to work hard, supporting you to research further. I joined the Chemistry Society which was really enjoyable - discovering how chemistry affects your everyday life. I even took part in fencing! I would recommend NewVIc to anyone.”

Going on to study Pyschology at City University.

“I’m so happy with my results and feel very proud to be going off to study at City! “I started at NewVIc on the Progress to Advance course three years ago, the time has gone so quickly - but I’ve enjoyed every moment.

“Teachers were amazing every step of the way - it’s a great place to study.”

Evelina’s tutor, Ghazala Anwar (pictured right) said: “Evelina has been an absolute star. She has worked exceptionally hard for these results and gone above and beyond the requirement for her work. I am just so delighted that she has been rewarded for her efforts in these results.”

D*D*D* BTEC level 3 Business

Taking a gap year before going on to study Business at Queen Mary.

“I really picked up the pace with my studies once I got to NewVIc, and I am delighted that it has paid off.  I have been accepted by the university of my choice, but I will take a gap year to follow a working programme which I’m excited about.

“These past two years at NewVIc have been the best of my life. I have made good friends, made the most of every opportunity and was elected Activities Officer for the Student Union. My leadership skills have flourished - come and see for yourself what NewVIc is really like.”



Ahmed Al-Shamari

D*D*D* BTEC level 3 Construction and the Built Environment

Going on to study Architecture at UCL.

“I’ve had an amazing time at NewVIc, I’m so grateful that I’ve been pushed to achieve more. My uncle inspired me to apply for an architecture degree, and I’m so pleased to have a place at UCL. At my interview the tutor was impressed by my portfolio and models - they couldn’t believe I’d made them on my own!”
