I Forgot How to Cry
A poem by Michalina Jarczyk
I thought I forgot how to cry
Until I heard your voice
In the crowded bar
Down our road
I heard your laugh
Pure and heart-breaking
And it tore me down
Tore me down a thousandth time
Look at me standing here
Falling apart
Into thousands of pieces
I thought I knew what loneliness was
Until I saw your face
In the crowd of random people
Receiving your smiles instead of me
Look how everything changes
I’m not sure who I saw was you
Wouldn’t it be easier then
Wouldn’t it be better
To leave this town
And runaway
Flyaway with the sparrows
Flow with the river
River of change
Universe and its changeable nature
This is how it makes me feel
This space in our togetherness
