NewVIc kicked off the new academic year with a high-energy Sport Freshers’ event welcoming new and returning students with a celebration of sport, fitness and wellbeing.
The event, designed to introduce students to the wide range of sport enrichment opportunities available on campus and beyond, was a resounding success, drawing hundreds of students.
Local sports clubs, college teams and sports ambassadors were also on hand to showcase opportunities available throughout the year, helping students connect with teams, clubs, and health initiatives. There was something for everyone regardless of skill level. The event served as a gateway for new students to learn more about staying active while balancing studies and sixth form life.
Katie Harris, Sport Academy Manager, added:
“The Sport Freshers’ Fair is a highlight of the year for me and my team. It’s a fantastic way for students to kick off their sixth form journey, meet new people, and discover all the ways they can make the most of their time here at NewVIc through sport.
We have a broad and inclusive sports offering and hope to continue to diversify the student offer. As we look forward to the academic year ahead, we remain committed to providing students with opportunities that enrich their personal growth and development through sport and fitness.”
